Types of electrical licenses in Kenya

Any person who wishes to carry out electrical installation in Kenya must be licensed by EPRA Kenya in accordance with section 148(1) of the Energy Act 2019.

Also, owners or occupiers of any premises shall ensure that electrical installations are carried out by electricians and technicians duly authorized by the Authority.

These are the types of licenses and requirements as stated by EPRA

Issuance of Licenses for Electrical Workers- Application via the EPRA licensing Portal. Attached copies of academic and professional certificates and payment of requisite charges

– Submission of three hard copies of the application to EPRA offices.
