A general Mechanical Fitter is responsible for fitting and assembling parts made from metal and other materials to make production machinery. This mechanical general fitter course is designed to equip the trainee with the requisite knowledge in the assembly and fitting of machine parts and industrial equipment.

A graduate of this NITA or KNEC certificate program in General Fitting will be able to perform the following tasks:

  1. Assemble and fit machined parts
  2. Tighten and adjust the fits/joins
  3. Clean and lubricate machine parts
  4. Troubleshoot and repair equipment/machinery
  5. Operate power machinery
  6. Inspect, maintain (service) and install machines
